Prerana is a sanskrit word used to describe the initiaiating life force of nature. In the natural world, we see prerana everywhere. It is the way an acorn becomes a massive oak or the way plants will grow as high as they can toward the light. Prerana is our ability to grow to our maximum potential. Prerana yoga is dedicated to unlocking this force within us all.

I have been practicing yoga for eight years and I have watched my life transform from anxiety-ridden, depressed and addicted to a more peaceful purpose.  Through yoga and thanks to my all of my teachers(including students), I have found a freedom I did not know was possible and it is my ultimate goal to share this freedom with every student I have.  I received my yoga therapy credentials from Hilaire Lockwood at Hilltop Yoga studio of Lansing and I continue to study under the direction of Robert Verdell of Globoflo Yoga and Anne Chrapkiewiecz of Bikram Yoga Lansing. I believe that everyone can benefit from what a yoga practice has to offer, no matter what your goals are. Yoga develops a heightened awareness that encompasses your whole being allowing you to become the freest and most alive version of yourself.

I teach paddleboard yoga because I love to play in the elements.  Infact, in some realms of science it is believed that the natural world also adopts a philosophy of play, or doing a thing for the sheer pleasure of doing it!  I believe that this playful interface with nature can be deeply healing and transformative.  I also believe that our ability to play in nature comes with a heightened responsibility to respect and protect our natural resources.  Water is life and if we want to continue to enjoy our ponds, rivers, lakes and oceans then we must learn how to understand and take care of them.  This is why Yogawild exists and this is why I chose to become an American Canoe Association certified Paddleboard instructor.  I am also endorsed in SUP Yoga through the American Canoe Association and through the Yoga Alliance.   I continue to train in the art of paddleboarding with Trey Rouss of Power Of Water.  I know how to show you the 'rules of the game' when it comes to playing on water and I cannot wait to see you find your water-bound practice and learn how simple, safe and blissful paddleboarding and paddleboard yoga can be!

I teach aerial and aerial yoga because it is absolutely thrilling!  Also because I am a firm believer in the practice of varied learning or mutiple learning styles approach.  In aerial, we learn how to change our relationship to gravity and to the world as we know it.  Perhaps it is called the same posture as traditional yoga, but it suddenly takes on a whole new meaning when you flip it upside down!  Through exploring all the angles and ways we can position ourselves with the assistance of aerial silks, we get to know a newer, more integrated and spatially aware version of ourself.  I am a certified aerial yoga instructor who has been teaching for the last four years. and am also an aerial circus arts teacher certified in 2017.  I cannot wait to show you how fun, simple and therapeutic aerial and aerial yoga can be!
